First saw this cove with Shield Your Eyes at The Unicorn on the Camden Road and liketh muchly. Thence I saw him on his tod doing primitive noize bluz in a warehouse in Bermondsey and was, as is the parlance, blown away. Later I sidled up to him in a dive bar in Chatham and mumbled something about pickups which I think may have been misunderstood but anyway this latest solo blast is the best yet wot I done heard. trcis1411
Pray Tell sounds amazing and I have no doubt the rest of the album will exceed my expectations. The fact that I can put on any of Stef's recordings -- records that I've heard hundreds of times before -- and still be shocked by how awesome they are speaks volumes. To be honest, if Stef started selling broken guitar strings on ebay I'd probably buy some just to know that I contributed something to ensure that he keeps making beautiful music. this is a living beast of a record, you can hear it heaving in feedback breaths in settlement and panting them out in old smoke, a feverish continuum of a record, each song an iteration of the last, I listen and I can't remember which song did what, cos they were all hauling for some golden horizon. eldudowski
Gnarly punk rock from the Philadelphia duo is unhinged in the best way, an in-the-red sonic assault a la Motorhead/Stooges. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 9, 2024
A most beautiful record with a groove that will make you want turn off the lights, burn a candle, drink a bottle of wine and enjoy the inspiring moment... past and present jofw
